P2P Application Guide

Introduction

This web page is designed to help you download, setup, run and understand the code format of the P2P demo program.

The P2P demo program is written in Java and consists of the following parts:

• P2P Client/Peer.
• P2P Server.
• P2P Presentation Server.

With these three separate applications, we are able to set up:

• A centralised P2P chat service (via the use of the P2P Server and 2 or more P2P Clients).
• A P2P DHT implementation for sharing file between peers (via the use of 2 or more P2P Peers).
• Additionally, for any of these setups, the P2P Presentation Server can be used to log and display all traffic in the system in a dynamic network graph.

These applications are designed to work either on the same machine in tandem or across multiple machines on the same local network.
