Introduction Setup Peer Server Centralised DHT Presentation Architecture-Basic Architecture-Operation

Presentation Server

In the Centralised and DHT examples, you no doubt would have noticed the option in each of the applications to input details about an existing "Presentation Server".

This application is used to log all communication in the network, display it in a dynamic visual simulation as well as provide information about peers and nodes (such as peer lists, finger tables, etc).

To begin using the Presentation Server for one of the examples, all you need to do is run the application as directed in the "Setup" page and choose an address and port number if required (the defaults should work in the RMIT labs). This should be done BEFORE you start up any of the other applications.

The Presentation Server's interface has a Centralised P2P and a DHT tab, depending on what information you are wanting to look at.

For any other applications (Peer or Server) that are executed after this, you should fill in the Presentation Server's address and port so all messages are forwarded to the Presentation Server for processing.
